USE:

1- ACTION HAPPENING NOW 

Si usa per parlare di azioni in corso di svolgimento nel momento in cui si parla o nel periodo di tempo in corso.

Time expressions:

Now, at the moment, this week, this month, this year, today, this morning, tonight, these days…

Translation:

Stare + gerundio italiano.

ex. My friend is talking to his teacher now.

Il mio amico sta parlando con l'insegnante adesso.

ex. I'm studying for the exam these days.

Sto studiando per l'esame in questi giorni.

2- PRESENT CONTINUOUS FOR FUTURE

Si usa per azioni programmate 100% per il futuro.

Time expressions:

tomorrow, next week, next month, next Monday, next weekend, this afternoon, this evening, this morning, in January, in the spring, in 2030, at 2 o'clock, at Christmas, at the weekend, on Monday, on 7th May.....

Translation:

Presente indicativo o futuro semplice.

ex. We're going to the cinema tomorrow evening.

Andiamo/andremo al cinema domani sera.
